Praying through the Psalms
In case anyone is interested, I have been praying through all the Psalms once per month. I begin with whatever day of the month it is. For instance, today is the 4th, so I pray through Psalm 4, then I add by 30- so I pray Psalm 4, 34, 64, 94, 124. Since there are only 150 Psalms, if you do this each day you will pray through all of them in a month. Also, I then read and pray through Proverbs. There are only 31 Proverbs so whatever day you are on is the Proverb you pray through. It has been such a blessing to pray God’s word. No longer do I find myself searching for things to pray for, or fighting the wandering of my mind. You can pray for as long as you can read as you turn all that you read into prayer. What a blessing it is to pray God’s will. We are told in 1 John 5:14-15 “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” What a great promise to us that He hears and answers our prayers if we pray according to His will. Praying His word, is praying His will.

It really is beneficial. It’s amazing how much God blesses His word to your soul when you take the time to meditate upon it and pray through it.
Good to hear it’s blessing you too.

Hey, just saw your church site. Looks good! I’ve been doing the same thing: praying the psalms once a month and going though proverbs. That’s the best thing that ever happened to me.
