Psalm 30:5
Psalms 30:5
For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
By His grace, He wraps us in gratitude to do everything we can to advance His kingdom among men, even if this means that we taste His displeasure in us for a moment (since that is all we could handle). His displeasure comes, and then follows His favor which now seems sweeter and more satisfying. We toss and turn, cry and moan for a short season so that when the morning of His grace comes, our joy in it is magnified.
What a great God we have that brings us to tears and who shows us His displeasure at our sinful pursuit of joy and worship which attempts to oust Him from our affections. His anger, our weeping, comes full force and we are lifted to His favor, and enveloped by our joy that results in a greater and more profitable glory to Himself.
