Recent Books!!!

This isn’t all that I have picked up since my last post, but it’s the most recent purchases.

Colossians Remixed- Walsh and Keesmaat (this is a fully postmodern commentary on Colossians, but I like its work on the culture that Paul was writing to).
Learning Theology with the Church Fathers- Hall
Reading Scripture with the Church Fathers- Hall
Metaphysics- Hasker (Part of the Contours of Christian Faith series)
Epistemology- Wood (Same as above)
The Church- Edmund Clowney (Same as above)
God’s Greater Glory- Bruce Ware
Telling the Truth- D.A. Carson
Truth or Consequences- Millard J. Erickson
An Introduction of the New Testament- DeSilva (very liberal, but with great historical info)
Ancient Future Faith- Webber
Ancient Future Evangelism- Webber
Useless Beauty- Johnston
Modern Art and the Death of Culture- Rookmaaker (I bought this last list, but forgot to put it on)
The Calvinistic Concept of Culture- Henry Van Til (Yep, not Cornelius, but Henry)
A Hunger for God- John Piper
The Roots of Endurance- John Piper
The Hidden Smile of God- John Piper
The Legacy of Sovereign Joy- John Piper
The Misery of Job and the Mercy of God- John Piper
The Prodigals Sister- John Piper

There you have it.

I know..I’m sick. My wife thinks I have an addiction to books. Personally, I could quit anytime…I just don’t want to!!!

I just got Useless Beauty a couple of weeks ago. Anyone have any other recommendations for film related books? I also have Everyday Apocalypse, Eyes Wide Open, Hollywood Worldviews, and some Chris Seay books. The community we’re a part of here (http://www.fusionokc.com) just started Film & Theology a few weeks ago and we’re trying to put it all together.

Gotta love book lists!!
I found Roots of Endurance an encouraging book and have since given copies to a couple of other people since. Simple, scriptural truth told through the stories of the three inspirational men. Good stuff.

How do you like those “…church fathers” books by Hall? I’ve seen them referenced a few places, but haven’t ever picked them up. Seems like a good idea at least.
