Adams plight
He sows , but poorly does he reap
Thistles now to the one it keeps
He builds to see his work destroyed
Sex now troubled, hollow and void
One sickness fixed to be haunted by another
Friendships broken, hatred is discovered
Now he is a slave to death
Each moment closer to his final breath
Dropping his prize to pursue his reflection
Finding misery as the result of insurrection
Oh Adam, why must it be
That I and all your progeny
Will bear this fate through history?
Your sin my sin, the death of me
Come now hear the story of temptation
Whispers in the heart causing spiritual fornication
Delight to the eyes, pleasant to taste
Why be given so much freedom to waste?
This is the question we often find
When searching the recesses of our own mind
Wondering how and when it was placed within
The Serpent and Adam we could begin
Truth be told, our hearts the same- the origin of sin
Flee to the one promised long ago
Through the Seed we all must go
The Alpha and Omega is His name
Victor of beast and death and shame
Triumphant in life and death and life again
Second Adam, better promise, our closest friend
Children of Adam take now the extended hand
Children of Adam look forward to a better land
Weep no more those who have trusted him
Tears no more over guilt and sin
For He alone is victory
Bringing sight for all the blind to see
Adam’s plight no longer the death of me
