I love this city!

More and more I’m learning to really love this city. I don’t mean love it like “I love living in San Diego because of X,” but more of loving the city, its problems, its beauty, its people, and wanting to see it changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ from top to bottom- in every nook and cranny. I want see our roads become smoother, our alleys become safer, and our neighborhoods loving its neighbors. I want to see passion for beauty in the arts, and a love for Christlike charity in our businesses. I want to see city employees love the city they serve, and service industries serve they city they claim to love. I want to see the homeless find homes, the loveless find love, and the broken bound in the wraps of grace. I want to see churches filled as the preachers preach the gospel of Christ. I want to see mothers and fathers love the incredible gift of life they have been entrusted with. I want to see children honor their mothers and fathers and learn early and often that this world is about God’s glory and not their own. I want to see owners own their responsibility of caring for their employees, and employees acting gratefully for the gift of work. I want to see teachers love teaching, and students love learning. I want to see law firms seek justice for those who are unable to pursue it, and for the citizens of the city to consider law-suit a final, not first, option. I want to see divorce courts emptied, and divorce attorney’s put out of business. I want to see financial firms seek financial stability for its clients, and clients to seek financial wisdom from its firms. I want to see taxi drivers loved by the fares they pick up, and fares to be fair for all who need loved. I want parks to be cleaned by the patrons, and patrons to find rest in their beauty. I want mechanics to give breaks to women, and women to feel honored by them. I want construction to be about quality not quantity, and home owners to appreciate the skill of the builders. I want tourists to catch the bug of graceitis from our city and become carriers to their own. Lastly, I want our church to see that each of us are individual solutions to these particular challenges so that our God looks really, really good to the citizens of our city.
