I think the study results were nationwide results, not just San Diego..."Twenge and her colleagues, in findings to be presented at a workshop Tuesday in San Diego on the generation gap, examined the responses of 16,475 college students nationwide who completed an evaluation called the Narcissistic Personality Inventory between 1982 and 2006"

But, I do notice a higher narcissism/self-focus here in San Diego (and I also notice it in myself, too), especially compared to where I grew up. The sunny skies, laid-back vibe can lead to greater apathy. You'll here a phrase like "no worries, broseph" more than you'll hear "how can I help you?"
