so appreciate your thoughts on missional ministry...

could you unpack the semantics of how clowney is using the words: gathering, gatherers, scattering, scatters, etc.

many people talk about the church being both about gathering and scattering, but i think that primarily relates to a worship gathering of some kind and missional living as the 'scattering' in small groups, missional communities, etc.

how does the worship gathering fit into clowney's 'gathering' of the lost? what does that worship gathering look like?

your thoughts?

Also, congrats! That's beauiful. Now I know what to be praying for. :)

Sometimes it seems challenging to do it all doesn't it? To be Reformed, Tri-perspectival, Gospel-Driven, and Missional! But nothing less is right or satisfying and as you said, quoting Clowney, "Such love (the love that is responding to God's redemptive love) does not ask what it must do as a minimum, but rejoices in doing unrequired good."

We just called our first church-planter apprentice and he accepted the call. We're having a big meeting Sunday night to announce it to everyone. He'll join us in September. Our prayer is to launch our first plant 18 months later. Peace.
